The successful candidate will work intimately with research teams across the organization to translate critical insights in the field of the human microbiome into therapeutic leads. The successful candidate will leverage systems biology and comparative genomic approaches to identify the ecological and functional microbial signatures of health and disease states across multiple disease indications. The candidate will be innovative and able to independently make novel contributions to discovery efforts and the development of methods to elucidate key host-microbiome interactions as they relate to states of disease and health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement quantitative methods, metrics, and analytical pipelines for evaluating and interpreting microbiome data sets, balancing adoption of publicly available tools with targeted internal code development
  • Develop strategies for visualization of complex biological results to facilitate communication of results among project team members and for inclusion in regulatory documents and journal publications.
  • Maintain current awareness of emerging approaches and methods in microbiome genomic and systems biology analyses and provide expert support to cross-disciplinary project teams
